Healing and Authentic Voice sessions are for those looking to discover their true vocal sound and learn to step out of the self-criticism and judgement often associated with vocalising. When we work with the Authentic Voice, we are not looking to sound like or imitate anyone else, but instead embrace and lock into the individual and unique healing power of our own sounding nature.
This work might appeal to many different people including Healers and Therapists in the Complementary Health arena who are called to work with their voice intuitively, but also performers who are led to discover their vocal sound outside of genre and conditioning.
These sessions are tailor made to suit the individual depending on their needs and suitable for complete beginners as well as professional voice users.
The aim is to work through conditioning and thought forms that might be blocking the authentic and natural sound we were all born with. Once we remove the structures around vocalising that have been put in place by care givers and teachers, we can start to access and harness our true authentic potential. This often begins with learning to like what we hear. For professional voice users, this can lead to a shift in career pathway and renewed confidence, a feeling of taking back control of the Self.
Once the authentic and natural sound has been discovered, further sessions can include Vocal Care and Technique for regular voice use, including projection, issues of vocal tone, stamina etc.
Alexandra is a highly experienced and fully qualified vocal coach and performer and also offers a detailed knowledge of the Estill Voice Model which she incorporates into her teaching style. She also draws from her Master's degree in psychology specialising in mental health and wellbeing, particularly in relation to recent research around nervous system regulation and the voice.
A session will work from many different angles depending on the client's needs and could include breath work, vocal toning, technical voice and more.
