Alexandra offers Sound Meditation as a treatment, where you can sit/lie back, relax, and be taken on a journey into your imagination accompanied by Sound.
Sound Meditation is a deeply relaxing experience, allowing your imagination to carry you to your place of light and comfort.
If you have any specific requirements or areas you wish to focus on during the meditation for improved health and wellbeing this can be discussed at the beginning of the session.
During a session you sit or lie down comfortably allowing yourself to drift to sounds of the sea and the rainforest accompanied by Alexandra playing Native American flutes, Tibetan Singing Bowls, Chimes, African drums and rattles, gongs, improvised voice and chant. At the end of the Sound Meditation, you will be left to absorb the silence as you re-balance and ground, before re-joining the outside world again.
Sound Meditation is often more effective than just meditation alone, as your brain patterns are gently entrained to the sound waves and rhythms of the instruments, helping you to relax more quickly and deeply, overcoming hurdles such as constant mind chatter, which keeps you in a stressful state.
As with all meditation there is no right or wrong! It is normal for your mind to throw up all manner of thoughts when you try to relax, as finally it has got your attention. The art of meditation is allowing yourself to be, as you are, thoughts and all and to stop worrying! Once acceptance of the situation, and the monkey chatter box mind is found, relaxation happens naturally...and like anything, the more it is practised, the easier it becomes.
